The upcoming Malayalam thriller, Kalamkaval, will soon be released in theatres, according to the film's makers. The Jithin K Jose-directed film will debut on the big screen in the first week of December, according to a new poster. In the meantime, the movie's advance booking option has started in the GCC and UAE, and several people have already posted screenshots of their tickets on social media.

On December 5, the thriller will open in theatres across the world. Kerala and India have not yet begun to allow reservations in advance, despite the Gulf countries having done so. It is reasonable to conclude that this is primarily due to Mammootty's enormous fan base in these countries, which extends beyond Malayalis.

The original release date of Kalamkaval was November 27, 2025. According to sources, the producers planned to release on this day in order to take advantage of the extended National Holiday weekend in the UAE. The GCC audience responded favourably to Mammootty's flick Turbo last year, and the producers later released an Arabic-dubbed version.

Kalamkaval postponed to December 5

Reports about the movie's delayed release started making the rounds on social media a few days ago. A lot of people conjectured that it wouldn't be released until the following year. The producers had not provided an explanation for the theatrical release's postponement. However, Kalamkaval's theatrical run was apparently being delayed since the OTT contract hasn't been finalised. After censorship procedures, the CBFC recently approved this film as U/A 16+.

Mammootty is making his big-screen comeback with this much anticipated Malayalam movie, following a break due to health problems and treatment. Gibin Gopinath, Meera Jasmine, Gayathri Arun, and Rajisha Vijayan make up Kalamkaval's supporting cast. There are rumours that Dulquer Salmaan will make a brief appearance in this suspenseful thriller. The film centres on a police inquiry in  Kottayikonam, which takes an unexpected turn when a string of seemingly insignificant clues leads to a devastating string of crimes.
