The film, which revolves around the investigation into a murder, has Bhavya and Srinivas Prabhu in the lead

For the longest time, September was meant to be the Salaar month, owing to which, no other major Kannada films had been lined up for release. But with the Prashant Neel-directed Prabhas-starrer bowing out of this race, a bunch of smaller Kannada films are now queueing up to hit theatres. While the first week of September had Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A, thereafter, no major titles were in the offing. Vijay Raghavendra’s Kaddha Chitra came on September 8, which was to be followed by Meghana Raj Sarja’s suspense thriller Tatsama Tadbhava on September 15, with Ganesh’s Baanadariyalli moving away from September 15 and taking up the spot vacated by Salaar.
Joining Meghana’s film is yet another suspense thriller called Parimala Dsouza. Directed by Dr Giridhar, this film follows the investigation into a murder and the incidents surrounding it. The film, according to the director, has all the elements required for family viewing, including drama, emotions, comedy, etc. and was recently censored U/A. “Parimala Dsouza is about a middle-class Hindu family, into which a Christian girl marries into. Life goes on smoothly until about two years later, when certain incidents happen to them. The reasons behind the murder is what the crux of Parimala Dsouza is about,” says Giridhar.
The film is led by veteran actress Bhavya, who is joined by a massive ensemble cast of over 100 artistes, including, Komal Banavase, Srinivas Prabhu, Sunil Mohite, Vinod Seshadri, Shweta Ramesh, Pooja Ramachandra, Nagamangala Jayaram, Meese Anjanappa, Jyoti Marur, Ugram Reddy, Chandana Srinivas, Laxman Gowda, Rohini, among others. “There are 107 characters in the film, who take the narrative forward with all the twists and turns,” he adds. Produced by Vinod Sheshadri, the film has music by Christopher Jayson.
