Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 is on a winning streak as it continues to amaze fans with a steady growth. Despite new theatrical releases, Kantata Chapter 1 is inching closer to cross the Rs 200 crore mark. On Day 23, the period saga garnered an impressive addition of 6.10 that turned the overall net collection to Rs 564.10 crore across all languages. Rishab Shetty’s prequel has already shattered many records as it became of the most successful films of the year and it is still managing to shine despite facing tough competition at the box office. The movie already surpassed the expectations as it defeated Pushpa: The Rise, Baahubali and the GOAT.

Kantara Chapter 1 is currently basking in its success as it continues to maintain its consistent earnings at the box office in the Hindi language. While many predicted that the release of Thamma and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat would slow down Kantara’s fever, it seems the movie has proved its mettle with steady numbers. After a slight slump, the movie is back in the game as it boasted Rs 3-3.5 crore on Friday (early estimates). The overall Hindi collection now stands tall at Rs 196.25 crore. The figure is not too far from the 200-crore mark and is expected to do well this weekend as well.
As per the analysis by industry tracker Sacnilk, Kantara Chapter 1 covered an overall Hindi occupancy of 23.90% in the Hindi language on Day 23 (October 24). It had an occupancy of 11.99% for morning shows, while the afternoon shows had a spike with 27.71%. The night shows lodged the highest occupancy of the day with 32.00%.
Rishab Shetty’s directorial explores Kantara’s saga set in the fourth century and the Kadamba dynasty. It follows a conflict between the tribe and the kingdom. Rishab Shetty essays the role of a courageous warrior Berme, who pits against the opportunistic royal son (played by Gulshan Devaiah). Princess Kanakavathi is portrayed by Rukmini Vasanth. Apart from captivating performances, the movie also delves into themes of Indian folklore, greed, power battle, divine forces and nature.
Kantara: Chapter 1 is currently enjoying a steady run at the theatres despite the new releases in both the South and Hindi cinema.
