Another upcoming Malayalam movie Karnan Napoleon Bhagat Singh has postponed its release date due to the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases. The movie stars Dheeraj Denny, and is helmed by Sarath G Mohan.

The actor shared the news on his social media. “As 5 more districts have fallen under C category, we will miss more numbers of theatres so release postponed,” reads the announcement poster. It also suggests that the new release date will be announced later. The actor also assured in his caption that the team will soon be arriving with the new date. He thanked everyone for their unconditional love and support. Meanwhile, Karnan Napoleon Bhagat Singh was set to be released in cinemas tomorrow, on January 28, 2022.

Debutant director Sarath had already revealed earlier that the movie will be a murder mystery and family thriller. Actor Dheeraj who is best known for movies like Kalki and Varikkuzhiyile Kolapathakam, will be essaying the lead role, as a young cop. The director had also talked about the movie with The Hindu earlier, and revealed that it is set in a village called Manjamankala. The movie deals with a murder, which creates a flutter in a close-knit community, according to him.

The movie’s title is also quite interesting, as it is a popular dialogue from the movie 7th Day, delivered by Prithviraj Sukumaran. The dialogue by Prithvi’s character comes after he talks about the people who fail in their life. He went on saying ‘Karnan, Napoleon, Bhagat Singh, they are my heroes since they three are the ones who have failed in their lives.”

The cast of Karnan Napoleon Bhagat Singh also includes actor-director Althaf Salim, Eldhi Mathew, Aneesh Gopal, Vishnu Purushan, Biju Kuttan and Arya Manikandan. It also features a line of senior actors like Indrans, Sudheer Karamana and Kochu Preman.
