Kattalan: The shooting for the action-packed film was ongoing in Thailand, but in an unfortunate incident, Antony Varghese Pepe fractured his hand, as per online reports.

Malayalam actor Antony Varghese Pepe has suffered an injury during the shoot of his upcoming film Kattalan. Online reports state that Antony was injured while shooting for a fight sequence that also involved an elephant. This has led to the postponement of the next shooting schedule by at least two weeks, until Antony recovers fully, as per reports.

Kattalan is an upcoming Malayalam film, which stars Antony Varghese Pepe in the lead role. The shooting for the action-packed film was ongoing in Thailand but in an unfortunate incident, Pepe fractured his hand, as per online reports. The shooting has been stalled, with the next schedule of Kattalan shoot also postponed by 14 days until Pepe gets back on his feet. The actor is best known for his action avatars, especially in movies such as RDX. He was last seen in Daveed.

Kattalan cast and crew

The high-octane action film marks the debut directorial venture of Paul George. The film is backed by Shareef Muhammed, who had previously produced Unni Mukundan’s violent actioner Marco. Actors Kabir Singh Duhan, Siddique and Jagadish, who also appeared in key roles in Marco, are part of Kattalan as well. Actress Rajisha Vijayan has also come on board the film as the female lead.

Paul George, Joby Varghese and Jero Jacob have scripted the film, which reportedly revolves around ivory smuggling.

Kattalan first-look to be out soon

Even amid concerns about Pepe’s health, the makers have announced that they would release the first look of Kattalan at 5pm on October 11, 2025. The team has not officially made any comments about Pepe’s injury or about the shooting getting postponed. Pepe has also shared the poster on his Instagram page.
