Khal Nayak (1993) stars Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt in the lead roles, which follows the story of Inspector Ram (Jackie Shroff) and his girlfriend, cop Ganga (Madhuri Dixit), who try to recapture the escaped criminal Ballu (Sanjay Dutt) after he escapes jail. In a new interview with Times of India, Subhash Ghai revealed that the script for Khal Nayak sequel is ready and added, "Yes, the script is complete now and the rest of the cast and technicians will soon be finalised.”

Filmfare reported that Subhash Ghai is excited about staging a sequel to Khal Nayak. The story will be based on new characters played by newcomers. "But add the original appeal, with Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt might be roped in for special roles. It's a project in the making right now, but Subhash ji and his team are very excited about this project," the source added.

Meanwhile, Khal Nayak is an action-crime film that tells the story of Inspector Ram and his girlfriend Ganga, who try to capture a notorious criminal, Ballu, but he escapes. Ganga secretly goes to retrieve Ballu, but their relationship becomes complicated. The film stars Sanjay Dutt as Ballu, Jackie Shroff as Inspector Ram, and Madhuri Dixit as Ganga.

The film is also popular for the famous track Choli Ke Peeche by Alka Yagnik and Ila Arun.

Madhuri, who was recently seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, is reportedly in talks for a comedy film, Ma Behen, co-starring Triptii Dimri and Ravi Kishan. The film is being produced under Vikram Malhotra’s production banner, Abundantia Entertainment, and will directly land on Netflix, as per Pepping Moon.

On the other hand, Sanjay Dutt has Housefull 5 and Baaghi 4 in the pipeline.
