When it debuted in theatres in April 2023, the thriller received not much recognition from viewers. As a result, it remains to be seen if Kirkkan will have any impact after its OTT release. On January 15, the film will be available on these well-known platforms starting at 12 a.m. The Malayalam movies Nidhiyum Bhoothavum and Ithiri Neram were just launched on these same streaming platforms. If you enjoy this genre, Kirkkan might be worth seeing once. Additionally, the movie had released in Tamil and Telugu as well during its theatrical release. It is unknown if the platforms would be offering the film in these languages.
Meanwhile, two other Malayalam films will also debut online this week. Mammootty's Kalamkaval will be streaming on SonyLIV, while Dileep and Mohanlal-starrer Bha Bha Ba will be available on ZEE5. Both these flick can also be watched on OTTplay Premium.

Kirkkan marked the directorial debut of Josh, who also penned the screenplay for it. Vijayaraghavan, Salim Kumar, Kani Kusruti, Johny Antony, Anarkali Marikar, Appani Sarath, Meera Vasudev, and Maqbool Salmaan are the main actors in the movie. It's interesting to note that this thriller also features 25 newcomers in prominent parts.
The narrative, which is based on a real-life event, centres on the 2005 death of a girl in a village close to Kottayam and the local police's inquiry into the tragedy. Mridula Warrier won the 2023 Kerala Film Critics Awards' Best Playback vocalist Female category for the film's "Kalame" soundtrack.
