Kiss the 2025 Tamil film starring Kavin and Preethi Asrani, directed by Sathish Krishnan, debuted on ZEE5 recently. Revolving around a romance-loathing man, and a dancer who falls for him, Kiss packs a unique fantasy element in the story, which makes it a breezy and light watch. Kiss OTT release: How Kavin-starrer film begins?

As a prologue of the film, we are shown that many years ago, a king who disliked the idea of romance, and ordered all the men between 12-40 years of age not to fall in love, so that they can service the nation. However, one of his soldiers did fall in love with a girl, and wrote all his thoughts in a diary. But when the diary was found by the king, the girl was burned at a stake, and was joined by the lover soldier. The couple died by burning but cursed the king that he will fall in love one day, and will fail at it. Now years later, we see Kavin’s Nelson, a musician, who loathes romance. His belief only grows stronger after he catches his father with another woman at his office. The divorce of his parents only further makes Nelson hate romance. After some time, Nelson, who is now living with his mother and brother, gets handed over a diary by stranger Sarah, a dancer, at the park. It is only at this time; Nelson realises that he has been bestowed with a power of vision to see the future of those couples he witnesses kissing.

Did Nelson get to be with his lover Sarah?

Using his newfound power, Nelson and his friend use it to separate couples, or even caution them. But at the same time, Nelson also wants to know more about the power, and the book, which leads him to enrol in Sarah’s salsa dance classes. Without telling her the actual reasons, Nelson befriends Sarah through her dance sessions, and even spend time with her. But Nelson is caught off-guard when Sarah makes the first move in one such instance, and leans in for a kiss, which makes Nelson act rude and walk away. Then on, Nelson begins to avoid Sarah, despite the latter asking for the reason. At the same time, Nelson too begins to research more on what’s written on the book, given he has clearly fallen for Sarah.

Is Nelson actually the reincarnation of the lover and not the king himself?

It is at this time, when we know the remaining story of the king who loathed love. When he himself fell in love with a princess later, the soldier’s curse came to life which resulted in the princess’s death. He went looking after the soldier’s diary, and with love and sorrow in his heart, drowned in ocean.

Back in the present, Nelson, who is ghosting Sarah despite having feelings for her, gets to the secret of his father’s past, and how his mother was very well aware of other woman. His mother reveals that the woman he saw his father with, was his lover before marriage, now suffering from long-term illness. His father now taking care of his lover during her last days. Meanwhile, Nelson who is also battling his feelings for Sarah, begin to understand the true idea of love and tries to get closer to her, who now wants nothing to do with him.

It is at this point when Nelson goes in search of Sarah to confess his feelings. The latter, who is at the dance show, gets caught in a fire accident. Enclosed in a ring of fire, Nelson daringly goes inside to save Sarah from the deadly scenario. After they get together, Nelson throws the diary back to the ocean and comes back thinking he should never be the king in is next birth. But that is when he is asked, why couldn’t have been the soldier, who ran towards the fire to save his lover.
