Krish Jagarlamudi: 9 Hours on Disney+ Hotstar is based on Malladi Venkata Krishna Murthy’s works, I am his big fan

Filmmaker Krish Jagarlamudi, who has dabbled with multiple web productions in the past including Run, Mastis on aha, is back with a new show titled 9 Hours, which is set to stream on Disney+ Hotstar from tomorrow. Krish is the creator of the period drama that stars Taraka Ratna, Ajay, Vinod Kumar, Madhu Shalini, Ravi Varma, Preethi Asrani and others in key roles.

9 Hours is produced by Y Rajeev Reddy and Saibabu Jagarlamudi under First Frame Entertainments. Niranjan Kaushik and Jacob Varghese have helmed the show, whose plot revolves around a group of prisoners who plan a bank robbery and hope to return to their cells before their roll call. The pre-release event of 9 Hours was held in Hyderabad earlier this week.

“TV shows take a lot of efforts and resources to be made. OTT platforms are offering wonderful opportunities to tell great stories in an episodic format, I thank Disney+ Hotstar for the same as well. The show is based on a work of Malladi Venkata Krishna Murthy. I am a big fan of Malladi garu’s works and we have acquired the rights of his few novels for the future too. 9 Hours won’t disappoint you,” Krish said.

Preethi Asrani shared that she bagged a special role in the show and thanked Krish for casting her in it. “Every character in the show is very well-etched and the technical aspects, including the cinematography, editing and music will stand out. Benarjee said that 9 Hours gave him the satisfaction of associating with Krish, more so because he was inspired to work with him after he watched Gamyam.

Madhu Shalini is cast as a journalist in the show and the actress revealed she’ll be an integral part of the crime scene. She promises that the vintage appeal of 9 Hours will allure viewers and expressed her happiness in being part of a show created by Krish. Taraka Ratna stated that the team bonded like family on sets and lavished praise on the writing and the characters.
