Kuberaa, the recently released Tamil-Telugu film starring actors Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and others, is all set to make its OTT debut. As we reported earlier, Prime Video has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film, and has announced its release date. Kuberaa will begin streaming from July 18 onwards, the platform confirmed recently.

Actor and filmmaker Dhanush was last seen in the social thriller drama Kuberaa. The film was helmed by Telugu director Sekhar Kammula and starred the actor in the lead role. The ensemble star-cast also includes Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh and others.

The film released in theatres in June, and following the big screen run, will make its debut on Prime Video. Kuberaa will begin streaming from July 18 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. The social drama thriller is helmed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sekhar Kammula.

In the film, Dhanush plays the role of a beggar, while Nagarjuna Akkineni plays a high-ranking intellect who once was working for the government, but has resorted to aid a corrupt business tycoon. The film is a cat and mouse chase between Nagarjuna and Dhanush’s characters after the duo gets involved in a financial scam. Exploring the themes of morality, money, and redemption, the film is set against the backdrop of Mumbai, the financial capital of India.

What do we know about Kuberaa

Kuberaa marks the first time Sekhar Kammula and Dhanush collaborated. The film opened to good reviews upon its release, with Dhanush’s performance lauded and many predicting that he will bag another National Film Award. The film has music by Devi Sri Prasad. Kuberaa had a good box office run in Telugu as compared to Tamil.

Meanwhile, Dhanush’s next film to release is Idly Kadai which is directed by himself. The film is slated for release on October 2. It will see him reunite with his Thiruchitrambalam co-star Nithya Menen.
