It has been confirmed that Malayalam actor Kunchacko Boban's next film is with Officer On Duty's director, Jithu Ashraf. The movie, which is yet to be titled, will feature a newcomer as the female lead.

The makers are now conducting auditions to select the female lead of this project, which is touted to be set in Malabar. Since their previous film, Officer On Duty, was a crime thriller and one of the biggest grossing Malayalam films of this year, the news of this project has increased excitement among moviegoers. The actor is currently in works of Mahesh Narayanan's highly anticipated project, Patriot, which also stars Mohanlal, Mammootty, Nayanthara and Darshana Rajendran. With a budget that is already rumoured to make it the most costly Malayalam film, Patriot is expected to be a box office success when it opens in theatres in 2026. Patriot includes Fahadh Faasil. The movie began production at the end of 2024, but Mammootty's health caused several postponement. Kunchacko Boban plays a cop in Officer On Duty, which came out earlier this year. The movie is currently accessible on Netflix in multiple languages.
