The first poster of Chaaver, which was released in December by Mammootty, had piqued the audience’s curiosity. The big budget movie, which has Kunchacko Boban, Antony Varghese and Arjun Ashokan in the lead, is helmed by Tinu Pappachan.

Contrary to Tinu’s previous action-packed films Ajagajantharam and Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil, Chaaver is more of a thriller. Scripted by Joy Mathew, the team had concluded its shoot last month and are currently busy with its post-production.

Members of the film’s cast and crew took to their social media pages late on Tuesday night to reveal that the first motion poster of the movie will be screened in Kerala theatres from Wednesday onwards. Ajith’s Thunivu and Vijay’s Varisu are the two major releases, which opened to a record number of screens on January 11.

Chaaver was shot in Kannur and also had locations in Tamil Nadu. The team had erected massive sets for the action pieces of the movie, which also has Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam fame Manoj KU as part of the cast. Chaaver is expected to hit theatres only by the mid of 2023 as the team is currently busy with CGI work of the film.

Tinu, also, will next be shifting his focus on Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Malaikottai Vaaliban in which he will work as the chief associate director. The Mohanlal-starrer, which will begin shooting in Rajasthan by January 18, is touted to be a big budget period film that has the superstar essaying the role of a wrestler. Kannada actor Danish Sait, Marathi actress Sonalee Kulkarni and Rajpal Yadav are also part of the film, scripted by PS Rafeeque.

Meanwhile, Kunchacko recently joined the sets of Padmini, which is helmed by Senna Hedge. The fun entertainer, which is being shot in Palakkad, also has Aparna Balamurali and Madonna Sebastian as the female leads.
