Sourabh Raaj Jain & Sumedh Mudgalkar, TV's Krishnas, promote Netflix's Kurukshetra: The Great War of Mahabharata an animated series retelling the 18-day battle from 18 warriors' POVs.

Sourabh Raaj Jain and Sumedh Mudgalkar, who have both portrayed Krishna in various TV adaptations of Mahabharata have joined forces in cross-generational collaboration to promote Kurukshetra: The Great War of Mahabharata, an animated series available on Netflix India. To promote their latest venture into Indian mythological animation, the streaming giant has released an announcement video that capitalises on the actors' ties to the epic.
Experience the legendary tales of Little Krishna, Suryaputra Karn, and Mahakali – Anth Hi Aarambh Hai and access JioHotstar, ZEE5, Sony LIV, discovery+, Fancode, and over 25 OTT platforms for just ₹149 per month with OTTplay Premium.
A promotional video featuring Sourabh Raaj Jain (renowned for his role as Krishna in the 2013 TV series Mahabharat) and Sumedh Mudgalkar (known for his role as the god in the series RadhaKrishn) was shot for one minute and one second. The two performers, set against a cosmic backdrop, illuminated the fundamental ideas of the ancient Indian epic as they framed the animated glimpses of the latest series.
Referred to as an "internal fire" (woh aag jo hamesha aapke andar jalti hai), the video portrays the Battle of Kurukshetra as a collision of ideas, a struggle between truth and deceit, and more than simply a physical fight. The actors brought to life the timeless moral quandaries found in the Mahabharata including the struggle between egotism and virtue and between protecting one's own life and sacrificing it for the greater good.

The video included the performers talking as the animated series clips played in the background. Animations featuring Lord Krishna in his Vishwaroop form, Bheem and Duryodhan's mace combat, Arjun's archery demonstration, and the lifeless body of Bhishma Pitamah were among the highlights of the wartime visuals.
Netflix launched the animated series Kurukshetra: The Great War of Mahabharata on October 10, 2025. Ujaan Ganguly writes and directs the show, while Anu Sikka conceptualised and created it. The goal of the series is to give a fresh, contemporary spin on the ancient mythology by retelling the 18-day fight from the points of view of 18 important warriors.
The animated series features voice acting by Sahil Vaid in the role of Krishn. Season one of this animated mythology series is nine episodes long and is part of Netflix India's growing original content schedule. Having the two well-known 'Krishna' actors be a part of the announcement is a smart move by Netflix to attract viewers who have seen the epic on television and will be interested in the new animated version. At the end of the video, it says, "The war of yesterday is an eternal lesson. Kurukshetra is still alive within our hearts."
Part 2 of Kurukshetra consisting of the remaining nine episodes, will begin streaming on Netflix on October 24, 2025.
