Tamil cinema brings a coming-of-age drama with Bad Girl, while Ekka is the much-awaited film from Kannada. The Telugu industry promises a quirky movie with a tryst with destiny, while Malayalam has an action-packed thriller in Karam. The Tamil coming-of-age drama follows Ramya, from her teenage years in high school to adult life in her 30s. Helmed by Varsha Bharath, the film depicts Ramya’s struggles with societal expectations that even prove to be an obstacle in her romantic pursuits. Noted director Vetrimaaran has directed this film, which also stars Anjali Sivaraman in the lead role. The film hardly made a dent at the box office, but deserves to be watched for shining a spotlight on a woman’s struggles.

Chiranjeeva

The Telugu film follows ambulance driver Shiva, who is obsessed with speed. But what if he is able to gauge a person’s time on earth, how does that change his life and the others. Actor Raj Tarun, as Shiva, leads this new Aha Original. This fantasy comedy is helmed by Abhinaya Krishna, a comedian himself, that promises a quirky, fun ride.

Another film that dabbles in fantasy but in Tamil when Nelson too gets bestowed with a gift to see into the future of a couple if he were to see them kissing. Young Tamil actor Kavin stars as Nelson in the film, which has Preethi Asrani playing Sarah. Choreographer Sathish Krishnan turned director with the Nelson-starrer.

Ekka

OTT release date: November 7, 2025

Streaming platform: Sun NXT via OTTplay Premium

Yuva Rajkumar stars as Mutthu, a thug from rural Karnataka, who sets out on a quest for vengeance after a friend betrays him but finds himself entangled with the Bengaluru underworld. Despite a promising start, Ekka could not keep up the momentum when it was released in theatres in July 2025. Rohit Padaki has written and directed this film, which also stars Sanjana Anand and Atul Kulkarni.

Karam

OTT release date: November 7

Streaming platform: Manorama Max

Karam saw director Vineeth Sreenivasan, also an actor and singer, returning to the thriller genre after a bunch of feel-good and romance dramas. The result was not exactly encouraging as the film got panned but Karam is expected to garner more traction on the digital space. Noble Babu Thomas stars as Dev, a former military office, who gets drawn into trouble in foreign land, and now needs to battle his way out.
