BTS: THE RETURN was directed by acclaimed filmmaker Bao Nguyen (The Greatest Night in Pop). It follows the reunion of world-renowned BTS members RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook after they finished their necessary military duty. The film chronicles the septet's intense 14-month process of creating their historic fifth studio album, ARIRANG and offers exclusive behind-the-scenes access as they traverse the emotional and creative challenges of entering their "BTS 2.0" period, with much of the action taking place in Los Angeles. The documentary discusses the band's brotherhood and the challenges of reclaiming their crown in a constantly changing music industry. It uses candid interviews and uncut studio footage to explore these themes, and the result is a moving meditation on perseverance, cultural heritage, and the bond that enables the band to honour its history while forging a new path.
Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again places a broken New York City under the tyrannical governance of Mayor Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio). Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) is still on the run six months after the first season's shocking ending, when Fisk imposes martial law and sends the deadly Anti-Vigilante Task Force to root out heroes. As Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page and Matt's grief over Foggy Nelson's death continue, Matt must don the comic-inspired "Shadowland" outfit and lead an underground rebellion, which includes Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones, who has been absent for far too long. The season reaches a climax as Fisk uses his "Safer Streets Initiative" and the media to solidify his control. A high-stakes urban conflict ensues, and the Man Without Fear must determine his level of commitment to "Resist, Rebel, and Rebuild" Hell's Kitchen's soul.
As the first Gujarati horror-comedy to use Dolby Atmos sound, Faati Ne? was directed by Faisal Hashmi and features a unique combination of terrifying thrills and slapstick hilarity. The plot centres on Paramlal and Padamlal, two decent cops from Melbourne, Australia, played by Hitu Kanodia and Smit Pandya, respectively, who wind up out of work due to a string of terrible mistakes they make on the job. Paramlal embraces a high-stakes challenge from their former commissioner to regain his job and gain custody of his daughter. He and his faithful buddy Padamlal will spend one night in an infamous, purportedly haunted mansion to show it is ghost-free and allow the property to be sold. The clumsy police officers are forced to muster up surprising bravery to survive the night, as their sceptical "investigation" night turns into a comical and terrifying nightmare upon encountering a real vengeful spirit called Jhand (Akash Zala) and an eccentric occultist, Baba Bhootmaarina (Haemin Trivedi).
In a festive "love letter to fans" marking the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana—the worldwide phenomenon that catapulted Miley Cyrus to superstardom—the original series premiered 20 years ago around the same time. Featuring an intimate, career-spanning conversation with Cyrus, hosted by 'Call Her Daddy' Alex Cooper, the special shows reconstructed reproductions of iconic sets such as the Stewart family living room and Hannah's legendary rotating wardrobe. She also makes a triumphant return to these sets. This documentary tackles Cyrus' rise from teen star to Disney Legend, using rare archive video and emotional memories to examine the show's enduring cultural impact. Her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, and long-time friend Selena Gomez will make special appearances, and the event will feature stripped-down renditions of classic songs like The Best of Both Worlds and The Climb as well as a brand-new original composition.
In the most horrific chapter of the franchise so far, Mardaani 3 (directed by Abhiraj Minawala) features Rani Mukerji's return as the tough and merciless Shivani Shivaji Roy. In Bulandshahr, Shivani is drawn into an investigation into the theft of a diplomat's daughter, which leads her to uncover a vast and evil syndicate that has abducted 93 girls from different parts of the country. She discovers a terrible enterprise that uses abducted children as human test subjects for illicit medical research involving a mutated virus, and her investigation brings her into a terrifying encounter with "Amma" (Mallika Prasad), the vicious queenpin of a beggar mafia. To uncover the truth behind the network's operations and bring poetic, uncompromising justice to those who prey on the weak, Shivani must navigate systemic corruption and a shocking betrayal from within her own ranks. The situation forces her to operate outside of the law, leading to a high-stakes international pursuit.
Kaattaan (also known as Muthu Alias Kaattaan) is a bleak rural mystery-thriller set on a distant hill in Tamil Nadu. It was co-directed by B. Ajithkumar and produced by National Award–winning director M. Manikandan (Kadaisi Vivasayi). A horrific discovery nearly forces a tiny police station to close its doors due to a lack of crime. This sets in motion an investigation into the victim, a strange guy called Muthu, played by Vijay Sethupathi. Some remember him with awe as a famed elephant trainer and saviour, while others see him with terror as a vicious outlaw with links to the Mumbai mafia; these divergent memories are what the authorities encounter as they investigate his life. The series explores both the complex nature of truth and the mysterious existence of a man whose true identity is just as elusive as his assassin through these changing points of view.
Naangal is a haunting coming-of-age drama (written, directed, and photographed by debutant Avinash Prakash) that takes place in the late 1990s in the misty hills of Ooty and is semi-autobiographical. The story chronicles the lives of three preteen brothers, Karthik (Mithun V), Dhruv (Rithik Mohan), and Gautam (Nithin D), as they endure a terrible adolescence in the shadow of their violent father, Rajkumar (Abdul Rafe), in a large, dilapidated mansion. The boys watch helplessly as their once-proud father's life falls apart due to his alcoholism and financial problems. As a result, they are pushed into a life of emotional isolation and tedious household drudgery, constantly on edge because of their father's egotistical, unpredictable tantrums. The film uses a unique colour palette that becomes monochromatic when the father is around to tell a brutal story about survival and brotherhood. It shows the quiet strength of the kids who find joy in little things like spending time with their dog, Kathy, and long for a feeling of "hiraeth"—a home that may never have really existed.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Now You See Me: Now You Don't is the third instalment in the franchise and brings back the original Four Horsemen—Jesse Eisenberg as J. Daniel Atlas, Woody Harrelson as Merritt McKinney, Isla Fisher as Henley Reeves, and Dave Franco as Jack Wilder—after a ten-year hiatus. Using deepfakes of the previous team, a new band of tech-savvy young illusionists named Charlie (Justice Smith), Bosco (Dominic Sessa), and June (Ariana Greenblatt) rob a corrupt cryptocurrency mogul. In the end, they draw Atlas's attention. To steal the "Heart Diamond" from the vicious mining heiress and money launderer Veronika Vanderberg (Rosamund Pike), the two generations of magicians are compelled to work together on a daring robbery in Antwerp. As the expedition progresses across Europe, the Horsemen face treachery, changing alliances, a shocking revelation about a secret goal, and a test of their allegiance to the enigmatic Eye, all of which change the group's fate.
A spiritual sequel and touching examination of single parenting and the everlasting pull of one's roots, Projapati 2 (directed by Avijit Sen) brings the beloved Mithun Chakraborty and Dev back together in a Bengali family drama. After the death of his wife, the protagonist, Joy (Dev), is left to raise his small daughter, Mimmim, on his own while juggling his professional aspirations and the demands of his job. In the meantime, Gour (Mithun Chakraborty), his father in Kolkata, is devoted to his traditional "pice hotel" and secretly hopes that his son, who is widowed, finds love and marries again. Thinking about the emotional complexities of generational shifts and the sacrifices needed to maintain family unity, Bhalobasha is a touching meditation on finding home and happiness within the warmth of one's family. The film follows Joy as he returns to his family home after a professional setback.
The Telugu criminal comedy Sampradayini Suppini Suddapoosani is both written and directed by newcomer Sudheer Sreeram. It brings back Sivaji and Laya, two of the most beloved on-screen couples of the last almost two decades. The plot revolves around Sriram (Sivaji), an upright and unwavering Panchayat Secretary, who discovers the lifeless body of SI Vikram (Prince Cecil) in his home, set against the rural backdrop of the Annamayya district. After his eccentric wife, Uttara (Laya), discloses that their son—who is overly preoccupied with reels—inadvertently caused the death, the law-abiding Sriram is compelled to compromise his ideals and guides his family through a string of comically disastrous attempts to dispose of the evidence. In the midst of a police manhunt and village politics, the film satirises the "traditional" morality of the middle class and how it changes in the face of catastrophic criminal events.
An atmospheric horror series that investigates the horrific psychological weight of lifelong commitment, Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen is an eight-episode Netflix original that was created by Haley Z. Boston and executive produced by the Duffer Brothers (Stranger Things). Rachel (Camila Morrone) and Nicky (Adam DiMarco) are the main characters in this romantic comedy about a couple planning a small wedding ceremony at Nicky's family's remote, snowy estate. Because Rachel is so superstitious, she becomes increasingly persuaded that a disaster is about to strike, turning what should have been a joyous week into a terrifying nightmare of growing dread. Embraced by Nicky's clandestine family—including his mother Victoria (played by Jennifer Jason Leigh) and father Boris (played by Ted Levine)—Rachel finds herself caught in a web of unsettling coincidences and "dreadful surprises" that make it difficult to tell if she's just nervous about the wedding or if the person she's about to wed poses the biggest danger.
