With Retro and Tourist Family running in theatres for about two weeks now, it is time for some new releases to hit big and small screens. Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly debuted on Netflix as well. But if you are in the space to catch something new, here are some of the OTT and theatrical releases you can watch this week.

Nesippaya – SunNXT, OTTplay Premium (May 16)

Nesippaya is a romantic thriller helmed by Vishnuvardhan. The film stars Aditi Shankar and Akash Murali in the lead roles, with the ensemble cast including Kalki Koechlin, Sarathkumar, Khushboo and others. The film revolves around young lovers who have a conflict, after which the girl moves to Europe for a job, only to be blamed for a murder.

Maaman – Theatres (May 16)

Maaman is directed by Vilangu fame filmmaker Prasanth Pandiyaraj. The upcoming family drama features Soori and Aishwarya Lekshmi in the lead roles. The family drama also features an ensemble star cast, including actors Rajkiran, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Swasika, Baba Baskar, and Master. Prageeth Sivan, Bala Saravanan, Jaya Prakash, Viji Chandrasekar, Geetha Kailasam. The film explores the relationship between a maternal uncle and his nephew.

DD Next Level – Theatres (May 16)

DD Next Level is a film headlined by Santhanam. It is the fourth instalment in the horror comedy franchise, the first three parts being Dhilluku Dhuddu Dhilluku Dhuddu 2, and DD Returns. The upcoming film is helmed by Prem Kumar and is about a film critic who gets called for a special screening, only to be mysteriously transported to a supernatural world and encounter deadly spirits, but in a comical way.

Maranamass – SonyLIV, OTTplay Premium (May 15)

Maranamass is a Malayalam film featuring Basil Joseph and will stream in Tamil as well. Maranamass is a black comedy film helmed by Sivaprasad in his directorial debut. The film revolves around a serial killer who is on the loose. But the situation turns out in a way that the killer, target, the hero and her lover all end up being on the same night bus.
