Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Churuli gearing up for a direct OTT release?

Churuli the most-anticipated movie from the ace filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery is buzzed to have a direct OTT release. According to recent reports, an official announcement about the same is expected soon.

The movie was showcased during the last edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala, after which it was rumoured that the movie will be released on Amazon Prime Video. However, many updates were not made after that. Now, once again the news broke out, leaving the audience thrilled.

The sci-fi mystery thriller stars Vinay Forrt, Chemban Vinod, Joju George and Jaffee Idukki in prominent roles. The movie revolves around two policemen as they travel to a dangerous territory in search of a criminal.

Churuli’s OTT release could be assumed to an extent because LJP’s previous movie Jallikkattu was sold to Amazon Prime Video. The movie has ignited a spark of amusement, and has also managed to win a nomination from India to the Academy Awards.

Talking about LJP movies, the filmmaker has been a fan of uniqueness, who has brought various experiments to Malayalam cinema. Whether it be Angamaly Diaries, Ee.Ma.Yu or Jallikkattu his movies have been a visual as well as intellectual treat in a way which is not very familiar to South Indian audiences.

Churuli is also expected to bring the same, as the filmmaker himself had described it as ‘a labyrinth where you lose track once you enter’, during the online session of IFFK.
