Disney's live-action Lilo & Stitch remake is now streaming on JioHotstar (OTTplay Premium) from September 3, 2025. This science fiction comedy film, a reimagining of the iconic 2002 animated film was released in theaters in the United States and elsewhere a few months ago and has finally been released on OTT in four languages: English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

About Lilo & Stitch

The film earned $1.025 billion worldwide and was the second-highest-grossing film of 2025. For the unversed, a sequel is in development with original voice actor Chris Sanders returning.

Lilo & Stitch is the story of a lonely Hawaiian girl, Lilo, and a destructive alien, Stitch, who is adopted by Lilo as a pet and finds a home with her and her sister, Nani. Eventually, they form a strong bond of ohana, or family, which teaches Stitch the meaning of belonging and helps the human family heal from their parents' death and the threat of separation.

The plot follows their adventures as Lilo tries to make Stitch a "normal" dog, while Nani fights to keep them together. Stitch's creators, the intergalactic scientist Jumba and agent Pleakley, try to capture the alien to avoid recapture.

The main theme of the story is family, emphasizing that it is not just about blood relations but also about love, loyalty, and kinship. Lilo's loneliness and Stitch's initial destructive nature highlight the idea that even those who are different and isolated can find a place for their own identity and be loved just as they are.
