Mohanlal’s classic films on OTTplay Premium
Thoovanathumbikal
Most of Lalettan fans consider Thoovanathumbikal as their absolute favourite film of Mohanlal. The ace filmmaker P Padmarajan directed this film, which narrates the tale of Jayakrishnan, who meets and falls for Clara. But Clara chooses to go away and Jayakrishnan agrees to marry Radha. Sumalatha plays the eclectic Clara, while Parvathy is seen as Radha. Thoovanathumbikal is available on iStream and OTTplay Premium.
Sarvakalashala
Mohanlal played Lal, who continues to pursue college education despite securing three master's degrees. He is fondly called Lalettan by the college students, a name that stuck in real life too and is still called so by his fans and the larger public in Kerala. Venu Nagavally directed this film, which also features Jagathy Sreekumar, Sukumaran, Adoor Bhasi, and Lizy. Sarvakalashala is available on iStream and OTTplay Premium.
Naduvazhikal
After his father Ananthan is framed by his business rivals and imprisoned, Arjun seeks to protect his business empire and fight for his justice. The Joshiy film, penned by the renowned SN Swami, stars Mohanlal as Arjun, while the veteran actor Madhu is seen as Ananthan. Kuthiravattam Pappu and Thilakan are also part of the film.
Thalavattam
Vinod (Vinu) is admitted to the mental hospital by his brother. After disliking him initially, Dr Savithri treats him and eventually falls for him. Mohanlal plays Vinu, while Karthika is seen as Dr Savithri. Lizy, Soman and Nedumudi Venu play other key roles. The film is especially noted for Jagathy’s comedy scenes and its beautiful songs.
Season
Another Padmarajan film with Mohanlal in the lead. Jeevan gets involved in a drug deal, as a one-time attempt to help his friends. But things go wrong, and Jeevan finds himself behind the bars. Gavin Packard, Maniyanpilla Raju and Ashokan are part of this film, which attained a fan base over the years.
