Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, the 2025 Malayalam superhero fantasy drama has been ruling the box office ever since it debuted in theatres last week. A first of its kind superhero film centered around a female protagonist, Lokah (called in short) is led by actor Kalyani Priyadarshan and features Naslen as second lead. The film is successfully the third highest grosser so far in Malayalam cinema this year. Further, it has shown no signs of stopping as Lokah is expected to dethrone Mohanlal's Thudarum and L2: Empuraan in no time. As of now, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has collected Rs 150 crore worldwide.

Malayalam cinema has done it once again. The recently released Lokah, a supernatural fantasy drama is ruling the hearts of audience and in turn the box office as well. The Kalyani Priyadarshan starrer has already entered the 100-crore club with its Rs 150 crore gross collection worldwide.

As per Sacnilk, Lokah has made Rs 72.10 crore in India. The film which hit theatres for Onam this year, has emerged as clear box office winner of the season. Further, going by the excellent occupancy in Malayalam and other languages, it would be no surprise if Lokah dethrones Thudarum and L2: Empuraan which are currently the top grossers of Malayalam cinema so far. Empuraan is at Rs 268 crore while Thudarum holds Rs 235 crore status.

What is Lokah all about?

Directed by Dominic Arun, Lokah is about a woman named Chandra who possesses supernatural powers as she comes across a young boy named Sunny who is evidently smitten by her. The film entwines Kerala folklore and mythology with modern day vampire concept, to tell an interesting superhero story sprinkled with cameos.

Produced by Dulquer Salmaan, Lokah is expected to have five instalments with actor Tovino Thomas expected to lead the second part. Actors Sandy, Naslen, and others are part of the film, with cameos by Dulquer Salmaan, Tovino Thomas, Soubin Shahir, Sunny Wayne and others.
