Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra box office collection day 37: Kalyani Priyadarshan-led superhero film is inching closer to the record-breaking Rs 300 crore. The film has already made Rs 297 crore in worldwide box office collections, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. Now it is a question of when, and not if the Dulquer Salmaan-backed film would hit the record-breaking Rs 300 crore. Lokah’s OTT release is yet to be confirmed by the makers, letting the film make the most of its theatrical run.

Lokah box office collection: Film closes in on Rs 300 crore

The Malayalam film Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra has shattered several box office records during its phenomenal run at the cinemas. The total India collections stand at Rs 152.35 and worldwide earnings at Rs 297 crore. But the film, starring Kalyani and along with Naslen, saw a sharp decline in its earnings with just Rs 0.5 crore in its Indian net collections at the box office on Friday, as per Sacnilk. Now that the film is entering the weekend, the collections are expected to see a rise. If the woman superhero film performs well during these two days, it would become the first Malayalam film ever to enter the Rs 300 crore club. Lokah, which reimagines the folktale of Neeli, would be looking to capitalise on the weekend, with the film needing just Rs 3 crore to hit the record-breaking number.

Currently, Lokah faces competition only from Kantara Chapter 1, which is also enjoying a successful run at the cinemas since its wide release on October 2, 2025. Online trackers have been saying that the Kannada film is performing well even in the Kerala box office.

But for the Rishab Shetty-starrer Lokah has a free run at the box office. No major Malayalam films released in theatres on October 3, Friday. The next Friday of October 10, however, will see several films releasing, including Senna Hegde’s Avihitham, Mathew Thomas-starrer Night Riders and Indrans and Meenakshi Anoop’s Private. But even these are not star projects.

On the other hand, there is still no official update on Lokah’s OTT platform or release date.
