Summer releases

When it comes to Telugu cinema, March is considered to be a dull month for film releases as most of the producers are not keen to release their films as the kids and the younger generation will be busy with their board exams. So, there are not many biggies that will be released in the month of March. Let us look at the noted releases that are slated to hit the screens this summer.

Phala Abbayi Phalana Abbayi:

Director Srinivasa Avasarala is back with his romantic drama after a gap of two years. The film stars Naga Shourya and Malavaika Nayar in lead roles. It has music by Kalyani Malik and is up for release on the 17th of this month.

Dasara:

The summer kickstarts with Nani's Dasara which will be out on the 30th of this month. Srikanth Odela is making his debut with the film which is set in the coal mines of Singareni. Dasara is a period drama and Nani will be seen romancing Keerthy Suresh. Santosh Narayan composes the music.

Ravanasura

High on the success of Dhamaka and Waltair Veerayya, Ravi Teja will be releasing his new film Ravanasura on the 7th of April. This is the first time that Ravi Teja will be playing a lawyer in this courtroom drama directed by Sudheer Varma.

Shaakuntalam

Samantha's dream project, Shaakuntalam will be one of the biggest releases as Gunasekhar is making a historical drama after a long time. The film will hit the screens on the 14th of April. Dil Raju has co-produced this film.

Virupaksha

Sai Dharam Tej, who has been lying low with an injury is ready with a horror thriller titled Virupaksha. The film is all set to release on the 21st of April and has been directed by Karthik Dandu, an assistant of Sukumar. Samyuktha Menon is the heroine.

Ponniyan Selvan 2

Though not a direct Telugu film, PS 2 is one of the biggest releases this summer. The Mani Ratnam dama will hit the screens on the 28th of April in the south and Hindi languages. The film has an ensemble cast and has music by AR Rahman.

Agent

Agent is Akhil's dream project and will showcase him in an action drama. The film will also release alongside PS2 on the 28th of April and has been directed by Surender Reddy. The film has Sakshi Vaidya as the heroine and Malayalam superstar Mammootty in a special role.

Rama Banam

Action hero, Gopichand has joined hands with his favorite director Sriwas for an action drama called Rama Banam. The film is all set for a release on the 5th of March and has Gopichand in a never before seen role.

Cutody

Naga Chaitanya has turned cop for the first time in his career with a film titled Custody. This film marks the Tamil debut of Naga Chaitanya and will be out on the 12th of May in Telugu and Tamil.

HanuMan

On the same day of 12th May, Prashanth Varma's prestigious film, Hanu Man will be released. The film stars Teja Sajja as the main lead and is a fantasy drama that will be released on a Pan India level.

Apart from the above said films, there are other small-budget films like Das Ki Dhamki, Rudrudu, Bichagadu 2, Mr. Kalyan, CSI Sanatan, and many other films that will come out in the next three months. Watch this space to know more about the upcoming films in the Telugu cinema this summer.
