Love OTP on OTT: Written and directed by Aniissh, Love OTP had received positive reviews, but failed to enthuse audiences, following which the filmmaker-actor had said he was giving up on films

Swaroopinii and Aniissh in Love OTP
Kannada actor Aniissh’s second directorial venture after Ramarjuna, Love OTP, released in theatres as a Kannada-Telugu bilingual on November 14, 2025. The film, in which Aniissh played the lead, opened to largely positive reviews, but despite that, it failed to pick up momentum at the box office, which literally left the actor-filmmaker in despair. Love OTP was a theatrical debacle, but it turns out that the makers have been able to get a streaming deal. Bhavaprita Productions announced that Love OTP will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video shortly. A date is yet to be revealed, but a January 30, 2026 drop is expected.

Following the theatrical release, only a day later, Aniissh took to social media, teary-eyed, and visibly distraught, stating that despite receiving his career best reviews, audiences were just not interested in watching his film. The box office collections made him question his worth and had him contemplating quitting filmmaking and acting altogether. He had said that if he was unable to sustain the film in theatres, it would be his last effort. This turned out to be the actor’s last social media post; he’s not been active since.
Love OTP paired Aniissh with Swaroopinii and Jahnvika Kalakeri, in a youthful and relatable romantic comedy. Aniissh played Akshay, an aspiring cricketer trapped in a toxic relationship with Sana (Swaroopinii). The only reason Akshay remains with Sana is because she threatens suicide at the slightest provocation. But then he meets Nakshatra (Jahnvika) and realizes just how troublesome his relationship actually is. How Sana reacts to Akshay’s feelings for Nakshatra is at the core of the film.

Aniish’s earlier film, Aram Aravinda Swamy was said to have bagged an OTT deal, but that is yet to make its streaming debut. It remains to be seen if Love OTP will get some love from audiences once it drops on OTT.
