Currently in the news for her performance as a cool and candid grandmother in director R Balki’s segment - Made For Each Other - in Netflix’s much talked-about anthology film Lust Stories 2 acclaimed actress Neena Gupta recently revealed that it’s Turkish shows that she likes to binge watch on OTT.

Speaking in an interview recently, the Badhaai ho actress said that OTT has led to cross-culture evolution, as viewers now have a lot more access to global content.

Expressing her love for Turkish shows, Neena told IANS “I am hooked on Turkish web shows. Every single one of them. And it’s so difficult because the show that I am watching right now drops a new episode every Friday, so I have to wait for an entire week.”

The digital platforms have helped her learn many new things about the people of Turkey and the country’s culture. “Watching Turkish web shows has helped me learn a lot of Turkish words. I got to know about Turkish wedding ceremonies and Turkish culture. The world has suddenly become so small,” the National Award-winning actress elaborated.

In Lust Stories 2’s Made For Each Other segment, Neena plays the character of Veda’s (Mrunal Thakur) daadi maa, who is heard telling her granddaughter, “Ek choti si gaadi lene se pehle test drive karte ho na. Toh shaadi se pehle no test drive?”

Among Neena’s upcoming projects include the Vishal Bhardwaj-directed mystery-thriller series Charlie Chopra the pilot episode of which released on June 30 on SonyLIV. Inspired by the Agatha Christie crime mystery novel The Sittaford Mystery, the series features Wamiqa Gabbi, Priyanshu Painyuli, Naseeruddin Shah, Lara Dutta, Ratna Pathak Shah, Gulshan Grover, Paoli Dam, Vivaan Shah, Imaad Shah and Neena in key roles.
