Maaman first look OUT: Soori’s film to have a release window in summer 2025
Soori, known for his roles in Viduthalai, Kottukaali, and Garudan, is set to star in Maamaan, a Tamil film directed by Prasant Pandiyaraj, who gained fame with the series Vilangu.

Soori, who wowed us with his performances in films like Viduthalai duology, Kottukaali, and Garudan, is set to team up with director Prasant Pandiyaraj for a film titled Maamaan. The film's first look was released on Friday, January 17, on social media.
Maaman first look starring Soori is out now
Actor-comedian Soori, who has recently taken up playing lead roles, will be starring in an upcoming Tamil film titled Maaman. The film is helmed by Prasant Pandiyaraj who previously made the critically acclaimed series Vilangu.
The film features Aishwarya Lekshmi as the female lead, with Hridayam fame composer Hesham Abdul Wahab scoring the music. Maaman’s first look was launched on social media on Friday.
The set of two posters features Soori. While one of them has Soori in what may seem like a scuffle, the other shows a traditional ear-piercing ceremony of a little boy who is sitting on his uncle's lap. The cast of Maaman also features Rajkiran, Geetha Kailasam, Swasika, Bala Saravanan and others.
Maaman is backed by Kumar Karupannan under the banner Lark Studios. It is to be noted that the same production banner had bankrolled Soori’s latest film Garudan as well. The film is touted to be a family drama. Maama is expected to be released in the Summer of 2025.
Where to watch Prashanth Pandiyaraj Vilangu on OTT?
Prasant made his debut with the 2017 film Bruce Lee starring GV Prakash Kumar. However, what got him fame was the crime thriller web series Vilangu starring Vemal in the lead role. The series is available for streaming on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium.
The series was released in 2022 and features an ensemble star cast, including Ineya, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth, and RNR Manohar, among others. The series consists of seven episodes and revolves around a sub-inspector in the outskirts of Trichy. Having a fair share of problems of his own, he faces a hard time cracking a series of crimes that seemingly look connected to one another. A second season of the series has been announced.
