We had earlier reported that comedian-turned-actor Soori’s Maaman has sold its OTT streaming rights to ZEE5. The film is written and directed by Prasanth Pandiraj and is a family drama.

Maaman is set to premiere on Zee5 on August 8, the streaming platform announced on Monday. The film will also be available via OTTplay Premium as well. Maaman had more than a month of theatrical run.
Maaman is a family drama that explores the relationship between an uncle and his nephew. The film is about the uncle-child relationship and how their overtly attached bond poses hindrance in their lives, causing familial relationships to strain. The film released in theatres on May 16 and had a good theatrical run.
Apart from Soori, it features Aishwarya Lekshmi, Rajkiran, Swasika, Baba Baskar, and Master. Prageeth Sivan, Bala Saravanan, Jaya Prakash, Viji Chandrasekar, Geetha Kailasam, Chaya Devi, Nikhila Sankar, Kalaivani Bhaskar, Melvin, Trichy Ananthi, Savithri, Saratha, Tamilselvi, Rail Ravi, Umesh Kanth.
The technical crew consists of cinematographer Dinesh Purushothaman, composer Hesham Abdul Wahab and Ganesh Siva as the editor. The film is produced by Lark Studios.
Maaman opened to middling reviews, but had a good theatrical run, given the emotions and sentiments worked in favour of the family audience.
