In a recent interview, Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil spoke about the Joseph Kosinski directorial and that he’s excited for Hans Zimmer’s score in Ramayana

Fahadh Faasil’s days of compulsive movie watching, where he’d see at least 3 in a day maybe long over, and he may watch 1 film over a few days now, but one movie that recently caught his attention was the Hollywood flick F1, starring Brad Pitt in the lead. Fahadh says that he thoroughly enjoyed watching the Joseph Kosinski movie, but it is not his personal favourite film about the sport.

In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, as part of the promotions of his latest film, Maareesan, Fahadh spoke about the 7-8 years he spent in the US after his disastrous Malayalam film debut, a time in which he watched a lot of movies. After squandering two years on an engineering degree, he switched his major to Philosophy, which gave him a lot of time and access to libraries, books and movies, while also interacting with people who were watching a lot of films.
This was a time he’s squeeze in 3 movies in a day, vis a vis now, when watching one film has become a task for him. Speaking about a recent movie experience, Fahadh said that he’d watched F1. “I thoroughly enjoyed myself and understand why it’s done well, although I prefer Rush,” he said. When asked if he thought that F1 had an Indian movie template, the actor agreed and said that it was more like an Indian commercial film with banger music by Hans Zimmer.
This brought him to the topic of Hans Zimmer joining AR Rahman to compose for Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious Ramayana saga. “I’m excited for Ramayana; he’s collaborating with Rahman sir and that will be crazy,” he said adding that while he likes Zimmer’s music in films, his personal favourite ARR album is that of Thiruda Thiruda, with Taal also ranking high.
