Mass entertainers and romantic comedies have always been the go-to arenas for Nithiin for a majority of his career. He is banking heavily on an action entertainer again to lend a new lease of life to his career. Macherla Niyojakavargam, his next film, helmed by editor-turned-director MS Raja Shekhar Reddy, is set to hit theatres on August 12. Krithi Shetty and Catherine Tresa play the female leads in the actioner whose trailer was launched in Guntur today in presence of filmmaker Anil Ravipudi.

In the early half of the trailer, Nithiin is seen as a happy go-lucky man and is surrounded by an eccentric bunch of characters. Vennela Kishore, Murli Sharma and Rajendra Prasad try hard to make you laugh though their attempts don't work fully. There are ample doses of slapstick humour and a romantic thread too. While Krithi is constantly in the company of Nithiin, there's still some mystery around Catherine Tresa's character.

When the action shifts to Macherla, where Nithiin is the district collector N Siddharth Reddy, he needs to face the music from a notorious elderly man Rajappa, who is not in a mood to let go of his position even earning it without an election (this has been a ritual for many years). Siddharth is here to give a tough fight to Rajappa and ensure that an election is conducted in the constituency.

Nithin's one-liners like "Nuvvemo Trivikram Srinivas la Punchlu, Veellemo Boyapati Srinula action.. ippudu nenem cheyyali Rajamouli hero la elevation ivvala" grab your attention. There are glimpses from the Ra Ra Reddy song as well. Simply put, Macherla Niyojakavargam is staple diet and is meant to pander to the galleries. Prasad Murella cranks the camera for the film which has music by Mahati Swara Sagar. Samuthirakani plays the antagonist. Sudhakar Reddy, Nikitha Reddy have produced the film.
