Sivakarthikeyan had made a cameo appearance in Vijay’s The GOAT, and ever since then the scene has been much talked about how the Amaran actor will be replacement for the latter. In the scene, Vijay is shown handing over ‘thuppakki’ to Sivakarthikeyan, as he tells him to look after while the latter says he has bigger things to do in life and he will take care. The scene gave way to the chatter that Sivakarthikeyan will be replacing Vijay in cinema field as the latter takes up politics.
During the audio launch of Madharaasi, Sivakarthikeyan addressed this and said, "After I acted with Vijay sir in the scene, many loved it. The way I see it is that he is likes and encourages my work and keep up the good job. More like a pat. But some began to tell that I am looking to be Thalapathy. Names like kutti thalapathy, thideer thalapathy are being used. All I want to say is that he would not have given me the thuppakki if I were a person thinking like that, and I would not have received it either. Annan annan dhan, thambi thambi dhaan. I want to say this for the last time here. No one can take over anyone's fans.”
