Madharasi to begin promotions soon; Sivakarthikeyan and Anirudh to croon for first single?

With a little over than just two months left for the release of Madharasi, the upcoming action thriller starring actor Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role, the makers are planning to begin the promotions by releasing the first single. One can expect the promo to be out any time now. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film is scheduled to release on September 5.

Madharasi update: Sivakarthikeyan and Anirudh to croon for first single?

Actor Sivakarthikeyan, who was last seen in Amaran, will be headlining filmmaker AR Murugadoss’ next film. Titled Madharasi, the film's makers have announced the release date as September 5. As per reports, the team is planning to drop the first single, which will be crooned by Anirudh Ravichander and Sivakarthikeyan himself. An official announcement from the makers is yet to be made.

Madharasi is touted to be an action thriller, and marks AR Murugadoss’ comeback to Tamil cinema direction since the release of his 2020 film Darbar starring Rajinikanth. It is crucial for AR Murugadoss that Madharasi wins big time, given his last film Sikander, starring Salman Khan, had become a box office bomb.

The upcoming project is bankrolled by the production banner Sri Lakshmi Movies. It will have Kannada actor Rukmini Vasanth play the female lead, who recently made her Tamil debut with Vijay Sethupathi’s Ace. The rest of the cast includes Vidyut Jammwal, Vikranth, Biju Menon, and Shabeer Kallarakkal, among others. The film will be shot by Sudeep Elamon and Sreekar Prasad will be handling the edits. A release date for the film is yet to be announced.

Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi

After Madharasi, the actor will also be working with filmmaker Sudha Kongara for Parasakthi, which will have Sreeleela, Ravi Mohan and Atharvaa. Although a release date is yet to be announced, it is expected that Parasakthi will release sometime in the first half of 2026. Parasakthi has music by Amaran composer GV Prakash.
