Puri Jagannadh is all set to make his bona fide comeback to Hindi cinema with Liger. The Vijay Devarakonda and Ananya Pandey starrer releases in theatres on August 26 in multiple Indian languages (shot originally in both Hindi and Telugu) and it's safe to say that all eyes are set on this mega release at the moment.

But for Puri Jagannadh, Liger wouldn't be a one-off gig in Bollywood and even wishes to remake one of his popular Telugu hits in Hindi. In a recent chat with Pinkvilla, Puri shared that, if given a chance, he would love to remake Businessman in Hindi.

The 2010 Telugu film starring Mahesh Babu and Kajal Agarwal in the lead was a box office success at the time of its release and many recall the film even today for its punchy lines and the intriguing premise. In the same interview, the Liger director adds that the massy elements of Businessman would certainly cater to the vast Hindi audience and that if given a chance, he would love to work on the remake soon.

Not just that. Puri Jagannadh goes on to reveal that he had grand plans on making sequels to both Businessman and Pokiri back then but things failed to fall in place.

"Mahesh Babu sir got busy with other projects post that and I never got the opportunity to share the plans of making the part 2 of those films after that. I feel both Businessman and Pokiri can be made into film franchises in Telugu because there's so much that can be done with those characters," added Puri Jagannadh in the interview.

Puri Jagannadh gained the attention of the Hindi audience as the creator of the original Telugu versions of the films Wanted (Pokiri) and Simmba (Temper starring Jr. NTR). The filmmaker made his Hindi debut with the Amitabh Bachchan - Raveena Tandon starrer Buddha Hoga Tera Baap.

Coming back to Liger, Puri Jagannadh co-produces the project with Charmme Kaur, Karan Johar, Hiroon Yash Johar, and Apoorva Mehta. The film also stars Ramya Krishnan and Ronit Roy.
