Maidaan box office collection day 3 - Ajay Devgn-led sports drama opened to positive response from the critics and the audiences. The film, based on the life of former Indian football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, saw the light of the day on April 11, 2024. However, paid previews of Maidaan were available for masses on April 10. The movie got a decent opening at the box office. But it fell flat on day two only to see an upward trend the next day. On day 3, Maidaan witnessed a jump in its box office collection.
According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Amit Sharma's Maidaan, starring Ajay Devgn, minted Rs 5.5 crore as it picked up pace at the box office. The total collection of the sports drama now stands at Rs 15.6 crore. If Maidaan continues at a steady pace, it will soon surpass the Rs 50 crore at the domestic box office.
The film has the potential to perform at the ticket window because of the positive feedback as compared to Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's film clashed with Maidaan on Eid. However, the movie failed to strike a chord with the audience and critics. It has received an underwhelming response.
While Ajay Devgn's Maidaan has collected Rs 15.6 crore, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan earned around Rs 31 crore in three days of its release. Ali Abbas Zafar's BMCM also saw a 50 per cent drop in its box office collection on day two. The way BMCM is performing at the BO, it's difficult to say if the movie will recover its budget which is reported to be Rs 300 crore.
Once Ajay Devgn-starrer Maidaan's theatrical run ends, it will premiere on a leading streaming platform. The sports drama will drop on Amazon Prime Video. However, the OTT release date of the movie is not confirmed yet.
