Superhit duo Mammootty and Siddique could be joining hands again after a gap of seven years for an entertainer that could aim at a hattrick of hits for the actor and director combo. Both of them are set to work together in a film that could go on floors next year, as per reports.

Siddique kicked off his solo directorial venture with Mammootty in Chronic Bachelor, which was the biggest hit that year. The duo then collaborated for Bhaskar The Rascal, which also had Nayanthara in the lead. Siddique had also worked with Mammootty in Hitler, which was co-directed by him and Lal.

The upcoming movie, if reports are true, could once again be a festive release as their previous ventures. The makers are reportedly aiming at a Vishu 2023 release for the film, which is set to go on floors as soon as Mammootty completes shooting for Jeo Baby’s Kaathal and Roby Raj Varghese’s upcoming crime thriller, which has the megastar essaying the role of a police officer.

Mammootty has had a great year in 2022, being part of several superhits such as Amal Neerad’s Bheeshma Parvam, K Madhu’s CBI 5: The Brain and lately Nissam Basheer’s Rorschach. The actor, who also made his OTT debut with the acclaimed Puzhu, is set for the release of Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, which is expected to hit theatres later this year. The movie, which has been shot entirely in Tamil Nadu, will also compete in the International Film Festival of Kerala along with Kunchacko Boban’s Ariyippu.

Meanwhile, Mammootty has also wrapped up the shoot of B Unnikrishnan’s thriller Christopher, in which the star will once again be seen essaying the role of a vigilante cop. The movie, scripted by Udaykrishna, also has Amala Paul, Sneha and Aishwarya Lekshmi as part of the cast. Christopher is currently expected to hit theatres in January 2023.
