Mammootty and director Ajai Vasudev are set to team up again after their ‘mass’ entertainers Rajadhi Raja, Masterpiece and Shylock. The upcoming movie, which could go on floors as soon as Mammootty completes his commitments this year, will be scripted by Udaykrishna, as per reports.

Mammootty and Ajai Vasudev’s previous films, which were critically bashed, did decent business in theatres. With ‘mass’ entertainers being the flavour of the season, it’s expected that the duo will stick to their forte in the upcoming movie too.

Three years ago, Ajai Vasudev had announced their next collaboration stating that debutants Bibin Mohan and Aneesh Hameed will be scripting the film. New reports, however, state Udaykrishna, who has also written Mammootty’s latest movie with B Unnikrishnan – Christopher – has taken over the scripting duties. It’s not clear whether the two projects are the same. An official confirmation is awaited.

Ajai Vasudev, meanwhile, has completed shooting of Pakalum Paathiraavum – his first non-Mammootty starrer. The movie, which has Kunchacko Boban and Rajisha Vijayan, is a suspense thriller that is based on NN Pillai’s play Dam. The film, scripted by Nishad Koya, is produced by Sree Gokulam Movies and revolves around a family that is struggling to make ends meet and decide to host a stranger for a night. The film had completed shoot earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Mammootty is currently shooting for Christopher, which also has Amala Paul, Sneha and Aishwarya Lekshmi. The megastar will be seen in the role of a cop in the film, which also has Dileesh Pothan and Vinay Rai in supporting roles.

The actor’s next release Rorschach is a psycho-thriller, directed by Kettyolaanu Ente Malakha filmmaker Nissam Basheer and is slated to hit theatres on September 29. The movie, which is scripted by Samir Abdul, also has Sharafudheen, Grace Antony, Bindu Panicker, Jagadish and Kottayam Nazir in pivotal roles.
