Manada Kadalu is headed to Amazon Prime Video

When Manada Kadalu released in late March this year, the reviews, interestingly, were not all too harsh, with critics opining that there were sparks of vintage Bhatru (as the filmmaker is known) in the film, what with the narrative peppered with his signature touches. Manada Kadalu is now set for its OTT outing, having bagged a streaming deal. The film has been picked up by Amazon Prime Video and is already available for audiences in the UK and USA. The India release is expected in 3-4 days. Recently, Vaamana was also released for overseas audiences first, with the India outing coming 4 days later.

TITLE Manada Kadalu

STREAMING PLATFORM Amazon Prime Video
STREAMING DATE Expected by mid-May, 2025

The film revolves around Sumukha (Sumukha), an MBBS dropout, who is on a path of self-discovery, having experienced nothing but disappointment with the medical profession. Along the way, he meets Rashika (Rashika Shetty), a budding cricketer, and its love at first sight for him. She, though, does not reciprocate the feelings, which, as is later revealed, is for a particular reason. Completing the love triangle is archaeologist Anjali (Anjali Anish), Rashika’s best friend, who is busy exploring the fictional Adivasi island of Donidurga.

Shot beautifully by Santhosh Rai Pathaje, the film delves into the concept of life and death, with Bhatru delivering his trademark philosophical views on the dynamics of contemporary relationships vis a vis the sensibilities of earlier days.
