Nandamuri Balakrishna pinned high hopes on Akhanda 2, but the action drama sadly ended as a major flop at the box office. Following the film’s disappointing performance, the senior star has maintained a relatively low profile and is quietly working on his next big project.

We at OTTplay Premium have already reported that Balakrishna will once again team up with director Gopichand Malineni, who previously directed him in the hit film Veera Simha Reddy. The new project has officially been announced and is set to go on floors from March 5, 2026.

The latest buzz is that popular actor Manchu Manoj has been approached to play one of the main villains in the film. Manoj started his career on a strong note but faced a slowdown after personal setbacks, including his divorce. However, he made a notable comeback with Mirai starring Teja Sajja, which turned out to be a blockbuster.

Sources close to the unit reveal that the makers have approached Manoj for a powerful negative role, and he has shown keen interest. Minor remuneration issues are currently being sorted out.
