Spoiler alert: Fans of Jeff Rake’s show about a flight that supposedly went missing for five years and returned with its passengers now getting ‘Callings’ from the ‘Divine Consciousness’ have binge-watched the last 10 episodes and are discussing the predictable and rather pointless ending that the showrunner eventually chose. Montego Air Flight 828 from Jamaica to New York City just hit the reset button – all is well and pretty much every passenger, but for 11 ‘judged’ ones, returns home on April 7, 2013. It’s quite the happy ending, but rather lame considering that fans dedicated years to this show to find out what really happened to Flight 828, the passengers, if and why they were the ‘chosen’ ones, and if any of it was real.

Here’s a look at some of the comments on social media about that ending that most did not like…

“i cannot stress this enough, the payoff for everything they did in season 4, and really the whole show, is absolutely horrendous. everything was rendered pointless. i loved this show but, this killed it for me. don’t think i can ever go back to it.”

“This finale episode ruined the show for me 😭#Manifest”

“Gained and lost an endgame... gained a precarious ending, lost a favourite show. I'm satisfied that we got an ending and I'm satisfied I can make sense of it. But I will always struggle with reset endings knowing that so much of what we saw is wasted to these characters #Manifest”

“This Manifest finale was worse than the Game of Thrones one, and I thought it wasn’t even possible to beat that horrible thing. #ManifestOnNetflix #Manifest”

“As someone who's favourite trope is found family, the series final of #Manifest mostly destroys that and I don't like it. The 828 family was more than just the passengers... and they'll never know the years and years they dedicated to this family”

“Feeling very torn about the ending of #Manifest. On one hand, I'm happy they got a do over. On the other hand, I don't like the ending. 😒Definitely feeling let down by the finale”

“okay, but to be honest I kinda hated the finale ?? Like yes, passengers did deserve the ultimate second chance, but not like this.”

“I understand having a plan in place from the beginning (if that was the case) but you also have to know your audience. I'm not saying the finale should have been 100% fan service but people fought SO HARD for this show when it was canceled only for it to end like...that #Manifest”

“Looking through the #Manifest tag and almost everyone is pissed. How did they screw the ending up so badly? There was so much promise and the last 2 episodes just threw it all in the sewer. No one grew at all they're literally exactly back where they started.”

“The ending felt rushed and incomplete to me. Some things just didn’t make sense. I am happy the evil ones didn’t survive the judgment day but they made some bonds vanish? I mean it’s fine to do so but with a proper explanation?”
