Why watch Maranamass on OTT

Maranamass plot

A serial killer is on the prowl, and Luke PP comes under the radar of suspicion, prompting even his girlfriend to leave him. But in a dramatic twist, he finds himself with the serial killer in a bus, along with his girl, the bus driver and the conductor one night. Siju Sunny and director Sivaprasad have co-written the screenplay based on Siju’s story. The film packs in several laugh-out moments even while dealing with a serial killer in its narrative. The humour plays a crucial role in this film, which stays entertaining for the most part. After Bromance Maranamass is the second film on OTTplay Premium this month with fun elements.

Basil Joseph’s performance

Basil Joseph once again leads the film from the front, elevating the dark comedy with his quirky performance. The actor-director, who led the fun-filled Nunakkuzhi last year, once again enters the territory with Maranamass. He breathes life into Luke PP, giving the odd touches of eccentricity and walking the thin line between freakish and outlandish. With his brightly coloured hair and funky clothes, coupled with his spot-on performance, Basil Joseph convincingly pulls off Luke PP in the film.

Rajesh Madhavan, Siju Sunny and a star cameo in Maranamass

Not just Basil Joseph, Maranamass has roped in a bunch of talented artistes who are known for their comedy. Rajesh Madhavan, who appeared in movies such as Android Kunjappan Version 5.25 before making a mark with Nna Thaan Case Kodu, brings his trademark humour to the film.

Siju Sunny, who was seen in Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil, delivers a convincing performance as Aruvi after contributing with the pen. Anishma Anilkumar, Babu Antony and Suresh Krishna are also part of the cast, lifting the film with their performances. Mayaanadhi star Tovino Thomas, who has co-produced the film, also appears in a cameo.

Apart from these factors, the film is also noted for its music by JK, with tracks such as the Flip Song gaining popularity on social media.
