Mark on OTT: Mark, directed by Max maker Vijay Kartikeyaa, is set for theatrical release on December 25. The film’s digital and satellite rights have, reportedly, been sold

Kiccha Sudeep’s next, Mark, which is his latest Christmas release, has, reportedly, closed on its digital and satellite rights. In the last few days, there was speculation about the possible platforms that could be vying for the rights, considering the players involved. Both of Sudeep’s last two releases are on Zee5, while the production banner Sathya Jyothi’s been dropping their films on Amazon Prime Video. One of the two would get Mark, that was the assumption, but earlier today, the buzz on social media was that neither got it.

According to reports, Mark has been picked by JioHotstar (and hence, available on OTTplay Premium too) for digital streaming, making it only the second Kannada film the platform has acquired, following the hit comedy Su From So . The Raj B Shetty production was a post-theatrical acquisition, and the film dropped on the streamer a little past the 4-week mark. In the case of Sudeep’s film, an end of January 2026 outing, likely Republic Day, can be expected.
Directed by Vijay Kartikeyaa, Mark is a cop thriller in which Sudeep plays suspended SP Ajay Markandayya, aka Mark. While one arc of the story deals with the circumstances, or rather the person, responsible for Mark’s suspension, the primary thread follows an investigation that the fearsome cop takes on, after children go missing and are found dead.
The Ajaneesh Loknath musical has a massive ensemble cast on board, and brings Yogi Babu, Vikranth, Naveen Chandra and Guru Somasundaram to Kannada cinema. They are joined by Dragon Manju, Mahantesh Hiremath, Roshni Prakash, Deepshikha, Archan Kottige, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Pratap Narayan, Dev Gill, among many others.
Q. Is Mark the Max sequel?
A. There have been rumours that director Vijay Kartikeyaa rebranded the script for Max 2 as Mark, but the filmmaker has negated this, stating that the nuances of the character in Mark are very different from Max's Arjun Mahakshay.
Q. Who all are on the vast cast of Mark?
A. Mark stars Kiccha Sudeep, Guru Somasundaram, Naveen Chandra, Vikranth, Yogi Babu, Shine Tom Chacko, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Mahantesh Hiremath, Dragon Manju, Roshni Prakash, Archana Kottige, Deepshika, among others.
Q. Where can one watch Mark?
A. Mark is set for theatrical release on December 25, 2025. There is no official update on the film's OTT partner and tentative streaming date yet, but the buzz is that JioHotstar has acquired the rights.
