Masoom: Boman Irani talks about ‘wonderful’ opportunity of making OTT debut at 62

Boman Irani is an actor who has done a handful of characters that still stay in the minds of film fans around the country. Having come into the industry as an actor over two decades ago, the noted actor is set to make his OTT debut with the upcoming show, Masoom. The actor has now said that it is nice to make a debut at the age of 62.

According to a statement, he said, ““In essence it is a debut and it’s nice to do a debut at 62 years of age of any kind. But this one was a bit of a challenge because of the format. We were shooting a story that will play over a span of 6 episodes, keeping in mind one continues to work as an actor.”

He also added that on the other hand, he does not see a difference in developing a character, be it for the cinemas or a web series as the character is breathing, walking and needs to be developed through their problems.

However, he did point out that it is an advantage to work on a web series as an actor, as one gets to spread their wings and develop a character to its fullest. He further added that the opportunity to work on an OTT series is “wonderful” and that he believed that he had grabbed it with both hands.

Masoom is a six episode psychological thriller that also stars Samara Tijori in the lead, playing Irani’s daughter, in the show that will show the complex relationship between a father and daughter.

Directed by Mihir Desai, the show is based on the Irish series, Blood. Also featuring Manjari Fadnis, Veer Rajwant Singh, Upasana Singh, and Manurishi Chaddha in important roles, the series will start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on June 17.
