Masthishka Maranam - The release date of this science fiction movie, also starring Vishnu Agasthya, Jagadish and Divya Prabha, has been announced by the producers as February 27, 2026.

Krishand, a Malayalam filmmaker, is about to release another distinctive movie in cinemas. Despite rumours that his film, Masthishka Maranam, will be released in February, the producers have now released a new teaser and a confirmed release date.

When is Masthishka Maranam release date?

The release date of this science fiction movie has been announced by the producers as February 27, 2026. Unlike Krishand's previous release, Sangarsha Ghadana, which had a limited premiere, Masthishka Maranam is expected to have more screens throughout the state because no other Malayalam films are scheduled to release on the same day. Sangarsha Ghadana is currently available for streaming on Sun NXT and OTTplay Premium. Fans of Krishand's films as well as those who occasionally appreciate a unique film are likely to enjoy Masthishka Maranam.

What is shown in Masthishka Maranam teasers?

The latest teaser features Niranj Maniyanpilla Raju as Bimal Raj, who plays a virtual reality memory game, and Rajisha Vijayan as the celebrated dancer Frida Soman. There is no doubt that the movie takes place in a dystopian future in the city of Kochi in Kerala. In the previous teaser, Bimal is shown getting into difficulty, and Frida, who is anonymous, is pleading with him to help her. She usually wears bridal clothes and comes across as eccentric. In spite of the actors' odd costumes set against a background of virtual sci-fi imagery, the director presents an intriguing plot overall.

Additionally, Krishand wrote the screenplay and oversaw Masthishka Maranam's editing. The posters were released by the film's producers in April 2025. Apart from Rajisha and Niranj in the main parts, actors Vishnu Agasthya, Divya Prabha, Jagadish, Suresh Krishna, Ann Saleem, and Rahul Rajagopal also play characters in the other posters. Manoj Kana, Santhy Balachandran, Zhins Shan, Sreenath Babu, Anoop Mohandas, Nandu, and Jain Andrews also play supporting parts. The cinematography was done by Prayag Mukundan, and the art direction was done by Krishand and Alvin Joseph.
