MenToo, a drama written and directed by newcomer Srikanth G Reddy, starring Naresh Agastya, Brahmaji, Harsha Chemudu, Sudharshan, Riya Suman, Priyanka Sharma, Mourya Siddavaram, Kaushik Ghantasala in pivotal roles hit screens last month on May 26, with Pushpa 2 makers Mythri Movie Makers releasing it across the Telugu states. The film is now out on OTT.

Leading Telugu OTT platform aha has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of the drama and has decided to premiere it within two weeks (of its theatrical release). The decision is barely surprising, for it’s a strategy from its makers to minimise its losses with an early OTT release. Mourya Siddavaram bankrolled the film under Lantern Creative Works.

Ashritha Vemuganti and Karthik Adusumilli too played important roles in the film. The story uncovers a male’s perspective of the world. Aditya is a corporate employee who is unrecognised in a female dominant workspace. Munna is a mechanic who detests women after a failed romance. Sanju is stuck in a loveless relationship with a male-hating standup comedian. They find solace in a stags-only bar where other men vent out their woes.

Elisha Praveen G and Osho Venkat scored the music for the film which had cinematography by PC Mouli. Karthik Vunnava was the editor while Rakendhu Mouli wrote the lyrics and dialogue. Mouli Eathalapaka is the art director and Srihitha Kotagiri is the costume designer. Srimanth Paturi is the co-producer and Sudheer Kumar Kurru is the co-director of the same.

The film largely received critical responses from the media and audiences alike and could hardly make any noise at the box office. The OTT release presents another opportunity for MenToo to make a mark among streaming enthusiasts. aha, the streaming platform premiering MenToo, is also releasing another small-budget film titled Addateegala this weekend.
