Param Sundari has been delayed again, now eyeing August 29 or September 5, to avoid genre fatigue and boost promotions. The initial July 25 clash with Son of Sardaar 2 is no longer a concern.

July 25, 2025, is no longer the release date for Param Sundari which stars Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor. Despite claims that the move was made to prevent Son of Sardaar 2 from competing at the box office, it seems like there's more to the tale.

Avoiding romantic genre overload

As per a report in Mid Day, Dasvi director Tushar Jalota's new film, Param Sundari is reportedly avoiding the romantic genre trend that has been going on recently. This month, two romantic films, Saiyaara and Metro... In Dino, have released back-to-back. Since that is the case, August 29 or September 5 are now being examined as potential release dates for Param Sundari.

According to an insider informing the tabloid, Param Sundari has its unique tone. Since two such romantic movies were coming out in the space of a few weeks, the producers were keen that audiences not dismiss it as yet another love story. The producers believed that delaying the release would benefit Param Sundari.

Promotional campaigns and personal commitments

Distancing the film from similar genre material isn't the only reason for the delay, though. Reports have it that the team is making smart use of this period to ramp up its promotional campaigns. According to an insider, Sidharth is currently busy with his new role as a father; thus, the recording of a promotional track will be done closer to the release.

This is the second time the film's release date has been delayed, and it's quite disappointing. Producers chose not to release Param Sundari on July 25 to avoid direct competition with Son of Sardaar 2 which is scheduled for the same day, according to an earlier June report by Mid-Day. According to recent reports, however, the goal is to provide some breathing space for the film in the midst of a jam-packed romantic slate. However, over the weekend, the producers announced the postponement of Son of Sardaar 2 to August 1, 2025.

Release date still not finalised

Although the Param Sundari marketing campaign is about to receive a new push from a music shoot, the exact release date that the producers have locked on is still up in the air. August 29 or September 5 is still up for grabs as of right now.
