The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film, Mindiyum Paranjum, have finally revealed an update on its theatrical release. The romantic drama, starring Unni Mukundan and Aparna Balamurali, will hit the big screen soon.

The movie will release in theatres on December 25, along with Nivin Pauly's horror comedy, Sarvam Maya. On the same day, no other Malayalam films are scheduled to have their big-screen debuts. Preity Mukhundhan plays the female lead in Sarvam Maya, while Riya Shibu, Janardhanan, Madhu Warrier, Althaf Salim, and Anand Ekarshi make up the supporting cast. In the meantime, it has been revealed that Mohanlal's multilingual fantasy movie, Vrussabha, would be released on Christmas.

Mindiyum Paranjum plot, cast and other details

The movie, which was filmed during the second lockdown, was repeatedly delayed for unspecified reasons. In an interview with OTTplay, director Arun Boses disclosed that the film is a full-length feature that centres on a married couple portrayed by Unni Mukundan and Aparna Balamurali. "Mindiyum Paranjum is a mature love story," he said. Madhu Ambat is the film's cinematographer, and Sooraj S Kurup is its composer. Arun and Mridul George co-wrote the script.

Unni and Aparna play the roles of Sanal and Leena, respectively, in the movie, which also stars Jude Anthany, Maala Parvathi, Geethi Sangeetha, Sohan Seenulal, RJ Murugan, and Jaffer Idukki. Arun goes on to say that Mindiyum Paranjum is neither an experimental film nor produced on the same scale as Luca. Nearly every Malayali has an expatriate in their family, and Unni plays Gulf Malayali. People will therefore be able to relate to this story.
