Yes, Mirzapur: The Movie has recreated the iconic Sholay song, Mehbooba Mehbooba which originally featured Amjad Khan and Helen. A report on Mid-Day states that the track will feature all of the Tripathi allies from Mirzapur. This means that Pankaj Tripathi, Divyendu and Abhishek Banerjee are a part of the song. New entrants Jitendra Kumar as well as Ravi Kishan have also joined in with Sonal Chauhan leading the dance number. The recreated version was choreographed by Vijay Ganguly, with Khandal and Junaid Kumar composing the track.
Confirming the song sequence, a source said, “Sonal Chauhan has performed the item song against a desert backdrop. The mood is such that Kaleen bhaiyya and the other characters are having fun at a rural bar where she is shaking a leg, and eventually they all join in the revelry. Tents were put up across the deserts of Jodhpur, where the song was shot over three nights.”
The track was filmed last month i.e. in February. While Pankaj Tripathi is not known for his dance and his character Kaleen bhaiya is also skilled with the guns over using his legs to dance, he is said to have enjoyed playing his part in the dance number.
