Vipin Das was said to be collaborating with Mohanlal for a film. He was also in talks for working on a project with Fahadh Faasil and SJ Suryah. Now, he has given an update on both projects.

Vipin Das, who shot to fame with his film Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey, was in the news for two major projects. One of the projects was with Mohanlal, marking Vipin Das’ first collaboration with the Lucifer star. The other project was a Fahadh Faasil-SJ Suryah film. However, both projects have had significant changes, with the Vipin Das-Mohanlal film getting dropped. Here is what the Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey director has to say about two of the proposed projects, that created quite a stir among cinephiles.

Vipin Das on projects with Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil-SJ Suryah

In a recent interview with Mazhavil Manorama, Vipin Das confirmed that the proposed film project has been dropped. The project was touted to be a family entertainer, as per reports earlier. The other big project associated with the Antakshari director had notable names such as Fahadh Faasil and SJ Suryah. Though Vipin Das confirmed that the film has not been dropped, the cast has been changed. But he did not reveal who the new cast members are.

The director, known for Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil, has also backed films such as Vaazha. He is also backing the upcoming Vyasanasametham Bandhumithradhikal, which features Super Sharanya star Anaswara Rajan in the lead role.

Vipin Das’ next project is Santhosh Trophy, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran.

Mohanlal’s upcoming films

Both projects had led to much excitement among the fans, who were eager to see Mohanlal join hands with new-age filmmakers. Mohanlal had recently collaborated with Operation Java director Tharun Moorthy on Thudarum, which turned out to be a blockbuster hit.

However, Mohanlal has a packed schedule as his next film is Hridayapoorvam, helmed by Sathyan Anthikad. The film, which marks the much-awaited reunion between the star actor-director, aims for an Onam 2025 release. Mohanlal is also part of Mahesh Narayanan’s ambitious project, which stars Mammootty along with Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara and Kunchacko Boban, among others.
