The upcoming Malayalam film Mohiniyattam, which is a sequel to the 2024 comedy Bharathanatyam, recently concluded its production. The makers have finally announced a date for the film's theatrical premiere after releasing a poster introducing the major characters.

By the end of the same month, Mohanlal-Mammootty's Patriot will also be released in theatres.

The producers verified on social media that the sequel's filming had completed in January 2026. The filming began in November 2025. The screenplay was also written by Krishnadas Murali, the film's director. It was already confirmed that Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Kalaranjini, Swathi Das Prabhu, Sruthy Suresh, and Saiju Kurup would return for the follow-up. Because Bharathanatyam was so well welcomed, especially following its OTT debut, a follow-up, Mohiniyattam, was unveiled in May last year.
