Kiccha Sudeep’s Max ended the dry spell for Kannada cinema on OTT, but at the moment, there is not much to look forward to in terms of newer releases. From the start of 2025, there have been quite a few theatrical releases, but only a handful showed promise. The box office for Kannada cinema has been dull this year, a trend that is likely to continue, what with 8-10 films releasing week-on-week, many of which hit theatres with no promotions at all and barely get any shows/screens.

Here's a look at the Kannada films that are likely to drop on OTT in March 2025

UI

Real Star Upendra’s UI was the first that Zee Kannada announced a TV premiere for albeit without a date, but Kiccha Sudeep’s Max beat them to it, with a simultaneous TV and OTT outing. When OTTplay last spoke to Velu of Lahari Films, he had maintained that the OTT rights of UI had not been sold and that negotiations were still on.

Streaming platform: Zee5 (Expected)
Streaming date: March 1, 2025 (TBA)

Aaram Aravinda Swamy

Aniish’s romantic comedy Aaram Aravinda Swamy, which paired him with Milana Nagaraj, is expected to be on OTT shortly. The streamer is yet to decide on a release window, though.

Streaming platform: Amazon Prime Video
Streaming date: TBA

Choo Mantar

The Sharan-led horror comedy has, according to the team, done moderate business at the box office, and there’s interest in when the film by Karva director Navaneeth will be on streaming. Sharan plays an exorcist in the film that follows the supernatural events occurring in a mansion called Morgan house in Uttarakhand.

Streaming platform: Amazon Prime Video
Streaming date: TBA

Royal

Dinakar Thoogudeepa’s latest directorial, with Kiss-actor Viraat in the lead, released in theatres on January 24, but did not work at the box office. Given that Kannada films only get pay-per-view deals on OTT, Royal is said to have been shortlisted by a platform and should be on it in early March, after the 30-day mark.

Streaming platform: Amazon Prime Video
Streaming date: TBA

Rudra Garuda Purana

Actor Rishi’s latest Kannada film had him in cop mode, investigating the disappearance of an MLA’s son. According to eye witnesses, the boy was last seen boarding a bus, but the problem is that the bus in question has not been operation in a quarter of a century. How is it that the bus reappeared again?

Streaming platform: Amazon Prime Video
Streaming date: End of March (expected)
