After making dismal numbers at the box office, Mowgli is all set to stream on ETV Win and OTTplay Premium from January 1, 2026. Ahead of the OTT release, here are three key reasons to stream the film.
Mowgli might have a routine love story, but the manner in which the actors perform is one of the highlights of the film. Roshan Kanakala plays the main lead, and his portrayal of a suppressed man struggling to get a job and settle down in life is showcased with utmost honesty. The way Roshan acts in key confrontation scenes with the villain is quite good to watch on screen.
Yet another highlight of the film is Sakshi Madholkar, who plays a mute character. Her performance is also quite impressive. Despite the routine story, the way the actors perform stands out.
One of the major reasons to watch Mowgli is undoubtedly Bandi Saroj Kumar. He is a popular director who makes independent films and also acts as a hero in them. Director Sandeep Raj cast Saroj Kumar in the antagonist’s role, and there was a lot of discussion about why such an unknown actor was cast. However, it is Bandi Saroj Kumar who emerges as the highlight of the film, and his performance as a crazy cop won the hearts of many.
Ahead of the film's release, the censor board awarded the film an A certificate due to Saroj Kumar's role and the dialogue he delivers. So, you can easily stream the film for his performance.
Mowgli is packed with solid performances, but a few scenes in the second half are narrated on an impressive note. The scenes between Roshan and Bandi Saroj Kumar in the last twenty minutes of the film are particularly well executed. This makes for an interesting watch if you enjoy intense dramas.
On the whole, Mowgli might have failed at the box office due to poor word of mouth, but the film has decent drama. Though it is presented in a very predictable manner, it makes for a time-pass watch if you have nothing else to do.
The makers sold the digital rights for a reasonable price and landed in a safe zone post release. Once the film lands on OTT, it remains to be seen how it fares. You can also stream the film on OTTplay Premium from January 1, 2026.
