The film was in the news ahead of its release as the director made some controversial comments about the film’s last-minute postponement. However, once the film was released, it ended up being a big flop at the box office.

Now, the stage is set for its OTT release, and we at OTTplay have already revealed that ETV Win has bagged the digital rights to the film for a fancy price. The latest update is that Mowgli will be out on ETV Win on January 1, 2025, as a New Year’s special.

Once the film lands on OTT, it can also be streamed on OTTplay Premium. The romantic drama was trashed by critics for its poor narrative and was out of theatres within just a week of its release.

Mowgli is about a young man whose dream is to become a cop. He falls in love with a mute girl, and just when things start making sense, a crazy cop, played by Bandi Saroj Kumar, enters the scene and disturbs the couple.

The old-school story, boring screenplay, and the slow manner in which events unfold did not go down well with the audience.

Mowgli is hero Roshan Kanakala’s second flop in a row. His debut film, Bubblegum also ended as a huge box-office failure, and now Mowgli has followed suit. He now needs to make a solid comeback by selecting a vibrant script that showcases him in a new avatar.

Performance-wise, he has done well, but his script selection has not been impressive. It remains to be seen how Mowgli will fare once it lands on OTT.
